- Samphire Neuroscience, a pioneering neurotechnology company dedicated to transforming women’s health, today announces the successful closure of a $5 million seed funding round. The round was co-led by Fortify Ventures, a NY-based sector-agnostic fund backing startups shaping the future of health and work, and Inventure, a prominent Nordic early-stage investor known for backing innovative healthtech.
- Daya Ventures, a Swedish venture studio that has rapidly established itself by building femtech companies from scratch, today announced the first close of its ongoing funding round.
- Amperos Health, a NYC-based company providing Amanda, an AI biller specifically created for healthcare providers, raised $4.2M in Seed funding. The round was led by Uncork Capital, Neo, and Nebular, alongside strategic angel investors from OpenAI, Twilio, and Stripe, bringing its total funding to $5 million to date.
- Akadeum Life Sciences, an Ann Arbor, MI-based company which specializes in buoyancy-based cell separation technology, raised $20M+ in funding.
- Neuralink, the brain-computer interface startup founded by Elon Musk, has raised $650 million in its latest funding round. The fresh capital will support the development and clinical rollout of its brain implant device, which is currently being tested in three countries.
- Tomorrow.Bio, a Berlin, Germany-based cryonics company, completed the first close of a €5M equity funding.
- Kyron.bio, a Paris, France-based glycan engineering startup, raised €5.5m in funding. The round was led by HCVC with participation from Verve Ventures, Entrepreneur First, and Saras Capital.
- Lever Bio, a Turin, Italy-based immuno-oncology company, raised €4M in funding. The round was led by Claris Ventures.
- Global investment firm KKR has announced a $600 million debt investment into the Manipal Group, one of India’s most prominent healthcare and education conglomerates.

- Brain scans of infants may predict emotional development and mental health risksA recent study conducted by scientists at the University of Pittsburgh discovered distinct links between white matter structure in the brain and emotional development.
- WHO recommends the use of RSV vaccines to protect infants from respiratory infectionsRSV causes about 100,000 deaths and more than 3.6 million hospitalisations in children under the age of 5 worldwide.
- Children whose fathers have depression that is undiagnosed or unaddressed are more likely to exhibit social and behavioural problems. Contrary to common portrayals in popular culture, fathers are also vulnerable to depression. Researchers conducted a structured exercise programme over a period of 3 years with patients soon after their chemotherapy. As per the study, the exercises were tailored to each individual and varied from person to person.

- Harvard study finds AI tool accuracy better than traditional methods to predict paediatric cancer relapseThe research collected nearly 4000 MR (Magnetic Resonance) scans from 715 paediatric patients and employed a technique called temporal learning to analyse the scan reports

- Apollo Hospitals Enterprises, India’s largest private hospital chain, is reportedly exploring the sale of its maternity and infant care division, Apollo Cradle and Children’s Hospital Ltd (ACCHL), in a deal that could be valued between INR 1,000 Cr and INR 1,200 Cr.
- Johnson & Johnson MedTech has launched KINCISE 2 Surgical Automated System, an updated version of its automated power tool designed for primary and revision hip replacements and revision knee surgeries.
- Brina Medical, a US-based startup, has launched CMAT Advantage, a next-generation device designed to empower hospitals and healthcare providers to curb the rise of chronic disease.
- Mumbai-based UE LifeSciences has launched iBreastExam, a palm-sized, non-invasive hand-held device that is making early detection of breast cancer quick.
- Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institution under the jurisdiction of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GE HealthCare Technologies Inc.
- Biocon Pharma Limited has received approval for its liraglutide drug product (6 mg/ml solution for injection in pre-filled pen and cartridge), from the Drugs Controller General of India, CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation).
Government News:
- The Union health ministry issued draft notification to amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 to bring in several changes including inclusion of bacterial endotoxins in the testing requirements, provisions to ensure antimicrobials are not used in food products, and exclusion of chemical contraceptives such as centchroman and ethinyloestradiol from Schedule H of the rules, among others.
- A research team funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has identified a diagnostic aid that has the potential to accurately predict the recurrence of diabetic foot ulcers that appear to be fully healed.
- On World No Tobacco Day, the World Health Organization (WHO) today launches a new publication and calls on governments to urgently ban all flavours in tobacco and nicotine products, including cigarettes, pouches, hookahs and e-cigarettes, to protect youth from addiction and disease.

- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, has joined hands with the e-health division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to develop and implement artificial intelligence (AI)-based healthcare solutions.
- NITI Aayog is preparing to release a comprehensive blueprint focused on improving brain health and identifying early signs of conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and stroke.
- The Ministry of Ayush has launched the AyushSuraksha Portal, a centralized digital platform that aims to enhance pharmacovigilance and regulatory oversight within the traditional medicine sector.
- In a major boost for breast cancer screening in the region, Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital has launched South Asia’s first Genius AI 3D Mammography system.
- AIIMS Bhubaneswar will introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems to enhance the early diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders,
